Butter Studio expresses thoughtful, detailed layers and nuanced spatial optimization to potential clients while maintaining an efficient, energetic, and hierarchy-free workspace at the same time.
Completion Year: 2022
Gross Built Area (ft2): 600 sqft
Project Location: Ahmedabad
Program: Design Studio
Utilizing a striking, atypical colour palette of blues and terracotta, a white-ash, open-grain veneer, the fluid work corners emphasize an open middle space where collaborative practice can flourish.
The space includes detachable work tables that double as whiteboards, walled computer desks, ceiling-to-wall storage, and expansive windows with plant-potted ledges that bathe the office with natural, muted light and create a green enclosure for the entire space.
The leisure corner, hosts a Sabyasachi-upholstered sofa, an inbuilt pantry counter, and wood-metal coffee tables, merges different styles that perfectly emote a contemporary, experimental interior. Rose gold metallic chairs, lamp, and handmade bronze-finish powder room tiles give a finishing flourish to the otherwise bright and matte space.
In line with the studio's vision as mood aesthete's, the material library is elevated on a wooden platform of the same white-ash veneer, and used open shelving with metal rails to invite scrutiny on the many books and sculptural knicknacks complementing the area.
