Completion Year: 2022
Gross Built Area (ft2): 3575 sqft
Project Location: Ahmedabad
Program: Residential
The residents had simply given two directives: “Clean Lines and Open Spaces.” A mission was born then, to break down every possible space-minimizing wall within the house, hoping it would aid in increasing a luminous aura. This eventually led to the creation of an endless first floor, free of partitions and obscura effect.
A neutral approach extended to the colors and materials used in the KG House: White base paint on walls and brick, Walnut wood, soft yet vibrant tapestries, lime plaster colors with complementing wallpaper, along with numerous plants to invite nature all the way into the house.
The most unique aspect of the residence, however, is the usage of hardwood that the residents themselves had reclaimed from a sunken ship’s cold storage. It now clothes the main staircase and the deck in the home's backyard patio, where it adds a seasoned, glamorous air to the otherwise minimalist property.
